March 2025: Friendship Thursday

Our first session was very promising and very enjoyable. With about 30 people attending, mostly from St Columba’s and St Theresa’s. There was lots of conversation, a free book swap table and a special guest, Anne Clark, from the parish, who showed us how to make interesting flower decorations for the home. This was greatly enjoyed and sparked a good conversation. As a result of feedback, we have adjusted the timing of the group to 2-4 pm. Huge thanks to the Communications Group and to the wonderful helpers who did us proud. Next meeting April 3rd 2-4 pm. We’d love to see you!

December 2024: Knitted nativity.

The knitted figures travelled safely around the families of our parish and arrived just in time for the Carol Service. These lovely children placed them on the altar.

December 2024: Parish Christmas Party.

On Saturday, December 14th, the parish held its Christmas party for volunteers and older parishioners. Upton Community Choir came to sing carols for us and with us and a great time was enjoyed by all. Huge thanks to the volunteers who prepared this event.

November 2024: Confirmation celebration.

We had a wonderful celebration at St Columba’s on Friday evening, 8th November. Bishop Mark Davies confirmed 52 young people from the parishes of St Clare, St Columba and St Theresa, St Francis and St Werburgh. The mass was a beautiful celebration, and it was a privilege for St Columba’s to host the occasion.

October 2024: Fr. William having his glitter tattoo after Mass.

October 2024: St Theresa’s Feast Day 1st October 2024

“Shower of Roses” Flower design by Margaret and Joan.

September 2024: St Columba’s 60th Anniversary

Parishioners had an opportunity to view the archives with events that have happened in the past 60 years. With pictures, newspaper items and memorabilia relating to the Parish during this time. Grateful thanks to Dutton & Hallmark (Undertakers) for their very generous donation of flowers to decorate the church for this Jubilee.

August 2024: Walsingham Pilgrimage – Aug 2024

August 2024: Farewell to Carol.

July 2024: Afternoon Tea in Aid of CAFOD

14th July 2024: Bishop Mark’s visit to St Theresa’s Church.

Chester Sinfonia gave a very enjoyable free concert for the parish on Friday evening, 5th July, with their thanks for the use of our hall for rehearsals. A very relaxed evening of music and socialising.
