The reception of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. “By the sacrament of confirmation, [the baptised] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith y word and deed”. (Catechism of Catholic Faith, no 1285)
If you want to be confirmed, please contact us
Bishop Mark celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation for all Chester Parishes together once a year. On the even years e.g. ’22, ’24, ’26, parishioners from all Chester parishes are invited to be prepared by our parish Confirmation teams. We have a youth preparation group, a smaller adult preparation group and separate arrangements for those who need individual preparation. The preparation usually takes place between May and November. Anyone wishing to be Confirmed must be in school year 8 or older on their Confirmation day. There is no upper age limit. Youth Confirmation candidates who have not made their first holy communion can do so during the Confirmation preparation programme. For further information call Denise Lusk on 01244 379742 or email the parish office. If you wish to be Confirmed in an uneven year e.g. ’25/’27 please contact St. Werburgh’s who will lead the preparation in these years.
