THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Truly, much can be done, provided we come together like so many streams, brooks and rivulets, merging finally in a mighty river to irrigate the life of our marvellous planet and our human family for generations to come. So let us join hands and take bold steps to “Let Justice and Peace Flow” throughout our world.” Pope Francis, Care of Creation.

WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
Walking down the street the other day, a person in front of me received a phone call and answered, “Hello Sunshine!” I thought this was such a lovely opening to a chatty conversation and it reminded me of a dress I have; the label on the hem, hidden from view, says “you look lovely today.”  Both little things, but made and said to make you feel good.  We never know what other people are going through but a small gesture or kind word can make a huge difference.

RESOURCES
Cheshire West and Chester Council – Home Upgrade Grants are available to homes which are not heated by mains-gas and have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of Band D, E, F or G. Properties heated by electric (such as storage heaters), oil, LPG or solid fuel, which have a mains-gas supply for cooking purposes only, are eligible to apply if all other eligibility criteria are met. You must be a home owner or private tenant and meet certain criteria. Check out the Council web site or try the Councils contact centre on 0300 123 8123.

VATICAN II COURSE:
Thank you to the many people who have been in touch to say how helpful they find the reflections on Vatican II. We continue Part III on The Church by asking the question: ‘Who is the Church?’ The relevant podcast and handout are now available on the website; dioceseofshrewsbury.org in the section on ‘News and Events’.  For any information contact Barbara; barbara.davies@dioceseofshrewsbury.org or Tel: 07730 526821.
