Your Pastoral Council met on Thursday 4th May and covered a very full agenda. Members gave reports on the high priority issues as identified in the Parish Development Plan – notably progress with the new website, successful outreach work of the SVP and continued development of the youth group, children’s liturgy and social events. The main issue for discussion was the planning of a strategy to recruit more volunteers to support in all aspects of our churches’ work. More news to follow!
We would like to congratulate the young people, especially a group of students from our school, who have been Confirmed last Wednesday 10th of May at St. Francis Church, Chester. The chaplain celebrated with the newly confirmed students and their parents the following morning, sharing a delicious breakfast in the CHS conference room. May the Holy Spirit guide them all in their faith journey.
The next youth group will be this Monday 15th May, 7pm to 8.30pm, at St Theresa’s. Last session we placed our hand painted ‘peace’ stones in the Peace Garden at St. Theresa’s and took a look around the church. This session we will do some planting in the peace garden, play some games, do a May activity and generally enjoy meeting up. All young parishioners from school year 5 and older are invited to join us.

Thought for the week Music can change the world. Beethoven.
We’re all in this together: Over the last weeks we can see how much music can play in our lives, from the Coronation music, the marching bands, the coronation concert, street parties and Eurovision. “United in music”, one of the slogans of the Eurovision. Bringing people and countries together. Liverpool, for the Eurovision is a little bit of the Ukraine. Where words fail, music speaks. Music can take you to another place, can recall memories. It has strong connections. Our community and Cheshire community continue to help those who flee from conflict. Music is an important uniter, be it memories, people and places. Enjoy the music wherever you are.
