Vatican II council, “earnestly entreats all the laity in the Lord to answer gladly, nobly, and promptly the more urgent invitation of Christ in this hour and the impulse of the Holy Spirit. Younger persons should feel that this call has been directed to them especially and they should respond to it eagerly and generously” (Decree on Apostolate of the Laity no.33)
From our experience as Spiritan missionaries, our apostolate in various parts of the world has been successful because of the great participation of the Laity. That is why Vat.II Council concludes that the apostolate of the laity derives from their Christian vocation and the Church can never be without it (DECREE ON THE APOSTOLATE OF THE LAITY no.1) They have a proper and indispensable role in the mission of the Church.
Hence we invite all parishioners to respond generously to God’s call to serve our community in different roles according to the gifts they have received.
