Farewell Party for Frs Jonathan & Isidore September 2019

Virtually  standing room only in St Columba’s Hall on Wednesday night, 4 September 2019, to say goodbye to our Parish Priest Fr Jonathan and Assistant Priest Fr Isidore at the end of their three and a half years with us, during which time the two parishes of St Columba and St Theresa merged to become one.

A very enjoyable occasion: buffet, wine, and general mixing followed by musical entertainment:  from Ann McCarthy, Jane Walsh, Mark Traynor – accompanied by Chris Steele and Rob Green at the piano, not forgetting a trio of St Theresa’s ladies flourishing a laden washing line for one of the McCarthy/Walsh numbers.

Ann McCarthy moved seamlessly into her role as Joint Chair of the Pastoral Council to pay tribute to Fr Isidore for all that he had brought to the two churches during his time with us. Co-Chair Pauline Rourke then paid tribute to Fr Jonathan for all that he had achieved in so many ways, pastorally and with the Our Mission Together Project. Pauline gave cards that represented thanks from all of us for their service and our very best wishes to both of them in their new appointments.
