Children’s Liturgy offers our children the opportunity to experience the Sunday Gospel in a way that they can not only listen to but respond to in a relaxed and age-appropriate way.
We welcome children of all ages and abilities to join us on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. We leave the Church after the opening prayer and go to the Newman Room of St Columba’s. We return to the adult liturgy in church at the Offertory Procession.
We aim to empower children to participate in the Mass as fully as possible. In our Children’s Liturgy sessions, the readings of the Mass are broken open and explained by a trained liturgy leader so that our children understand and engage in the Gospel, helping them to grow in their love and understanding of God.
An adult is welcome to accompany any child who might be nervous or unsure. If you would like more information on Children’s Liturgy or are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Gillian Blatch on 07739320727
